Can I live at the Newman House over school breaks?

Yes! You are welcome to stay over all breaks during the academic year for no additional charge. If you would like to stay over the summer, there is a separate contract with a fixed weekly rate that is used to calculate rent for any weeks that you will be be staying at the house.

Can I live at the Newman House for just one semester? 

Yes! There are single semester options for either semester. If you are interested in either of them please contact the House Director for more details.

Can i move in early? 

Yes! How early you are planning on moving in will determine whether or not there is a charge for early move in. If you are moving in more than a week before the contract starts the Newman House may require you to sign a summer contract and pay the summer rates for the weeks leading up to the school year.

Can I store my belongings at the Newman House over the summer?

Yes! Residents who are planning on returning in the fall can leave their belongings in their rooms over the summer for a small storage fee of $50. The same goes for those who are planning on moving out of the house, but won’t return for their items until after the summer. The House Director will designate proper storage locations within the house if the bedroom is being used for the summer.

Do I get to choose my room type/roommate?

Yes! The application has a place to indicate what your room preference (single or double) and roommate preference is. Rooms are assigned on a first come, first serve basis, and the current resident of a room always has the option to stay before it would be reassigned for the upcoming school year. The Newman House does have the right to reassign rooms if the circumstances demand it.

Can I have guests stay at the house? 

Yes! Female guests are always welcome to stay in your room, or the Newman House has a guest room where female guests of residents can stay for no charge. The resident just needs wash and replace the linens and towels when their guest has left.
