HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LIVE AT THE NEWMAN HOUSE?
The rate for the 2023-2024 academic year is $8,200 for a single occupancy room and $7,000 for a double occupancy room.
I'M NOT SURE I WILL BE LIVING THERE FOR A FULL YEAR, DO YOU HAVE SINGLE SEMESTER OPTIONS?
Yes, we have a contract option with a single semester contingency. If you are unsure of whether or not you will be living at the house for the full academic year, you can always choose the single semester option and we can easily add a contract for the spring semester later.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
The Newman House offers two different payment plans, allowing residents to pay the total due in either two or four installments. The Newman House accepts cash, check, money order, and online payments for rent. Any credit card processing fees for online payments will be covered by the resident. For more details about payment, please see the contract here.
CAN I USE FINANCIAL AID TO PAY FOR HOUSING?
Yes! The Newman House does accept financial aid to cover housing costs. In order to utilize this option, however, the student must provide proof of financial aid as well as proof that enough funds will be present to cover all expected costs (tuition, books, etc.) and still have enough to pay rent, by the date specified in the contract. Any student planning on using financial aid to cover housing should discuss this with the house director ahead of time in order to make sure everything is in order.
HOW EARLY SHOULD I APPLY?
The Newman House accepts applications on a rolling basis. However, room and roommate requests are handled on a first come, first serve basis.
